About Valaer...

The founder of Van Roÿen Decorative, Valaer Van Roÿen, has studied and worked in the world of arts and antiques for over 17 years. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History from Dartmouth College and a Master’s Degree in the History of Decorative Arts and Design from the Bard Graduate Center in New York. 

She has worked for both Christie’s and Sotheby’s auction houses in New York and provided research for museums as well as private New York antiques dealers. In 2012 she began curating her own collection of unique objects, antiques and furniture which has become Van Roÿen Decorative.
